Families As Partners

Families play a key role is shaping children’s character, learning and readiness for schooling. Families are partners in the learning and development of their children. I work with schools to plan opportunities to strengthen parents’ and caregivers’ knowledge and access to resources, while ensuring that the needs of school communities are met. I provide strategic support to families to improve awareness of literacy curriculum, assessment, and instruction. I also facilitate access to a variety of practical resources and ideas to support learning at home.

My goal is to accommodate the needs of families and enhance accessibility to services and resources. As needed, I can provide translations of presentations in real time in multiple languages. When possible, I also provide access to translators to respond to questions during synchronous workshops. Further, I provide access to translations of documents, videos, and children’s books in multiple languages to encourage speakers of languages other than English to participate in their children’s learning.
