Noor Literacy is founded by Tagrid Sihly, an experienced educational leader who is committed to providing school communities with high quality learning opportunities, practical resources, and ongoing instructional support. Tagrid’s mission is to empower every learner with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve remarkable results in school and beyond.
My Approach
I believe that all teachers should be knowledgeable about research-based literacy instruction and have access to high quality resources, including human resources, to support and extend their professional learning journey. I collaborate with school leaders to make this goal a reality so that we can help all children learn and achieve. I review the school’s data to develop a clear understanding of the current reality. Jointly, we design school support plan designed to empower teachers while helping all students achieve great results. I provide my clients with targeted professional learning opportunities and access to high quality literacy resources to leverage learning and ongoing growth.
My Services
Professional Development
I believe that all teachers, no matter what stage of their career they are at, should feel confident teaching students through research and evidence-based practices. I work closely with schools to build teachers’ capacity and help them reach their goals. I work with schools to develop a strategic professional development plan that complements the needs of teachers and school-based service providers. Whether in-person or virtual, I provide training that equips instructional staff with a solid foundation for professional learning and growth. For professional development to be truly impactful, educators need to be able to apply and practice what they learn. I help teacher teams and individual teachers implement what they learn while they continue to refine their practice.
Workshops For Families
All families want their children to develop reading proficiency so they can succeed in school. To do so, young children need ongoing guidance and support to help them apply and supplement new concepts learned in the classroom. Families can take strategic steps to become informed about literacy development and strategies and have access to high quality literacy resources to support their children at home. I provide webinars and informational courses to support parents with the necessary information and tools to enhance their knowledge about literacy development and instruction so they can promote their children’s reading enjoyment and literacy development at home.
Online Teaching
Strong literacy skills are the foundation for success in school and beyond. I provide targeted literacy lessons using a structured literacy approach which involves sequential, explicit instruction embedded in the science of reading. Following the administration of benchmark assessments and thorough analysis of the assessment data, I provide explicit instruction in foundational reading and writing skills.
